Options - Scanning (SC)
By clicking within the Options-menu on the subsection Scanning you may define the parameters for the scanner like the scan-mode, whether a document should be scanned in B/W, grayscale or color and many things more.
Please note: Whether an option is available to you depends on the scanner you’re using as well as the capabilities supported by the TWAIN-driver.
In case you’re using a hardware scanner the options you may choose from might look similar to the ones within the screenshot.

Depending on the hardware scanner you’re using, you may choose and set the following options:

Brightness | Slider | May be used in order to increase or reduce the brightness factor of the scan result. Please note: Depending on the hardware and the driver used, you may have access to the Auto-checkbox on the right-hand side. | Default: 0 All integer values between: -100 → 100 |

Barcodes | Checkbox | In case your scanner/driver supports hardware barcode detection you may tick this box. If ticked the scanner will communicate detected barcodes to KGS Scan. | Ticked / Unticked |
Auto Deskew | Checkbox | When your scanner/driver is capable to detect whether scanned documents are skewed you may tick this box in order to rectify the scanned pages. | Ticked / Unticked |
Auto Blank Page Removal | Checkbox | If your scanned documents contain blank pages and your scanner/driver is capable to detect those, you may tick this box in order to remove blank pages altogether. | Ticked / Unticked |
Auto Rotation | Checkbox | In case you’re scanning pages and want to make sure, that none are sideways or upside down, you may tick this box in order to activate the auto rotation capabilities of your scanner (if those are existing and the driver is capable to do that). | Ticked / Unticked |
use TwainUI | Checkbox | When being enabled this will launch the TwainUI-dialogue for each scan process. KGS Scan will apply the results of this user interaction accordingly. This gives you the option to modify local scanner parameters each time before scanning starts. | Ticked / Unticked |
Auto Color | Checkbox | If your driver/scanner is capable to automatically detect whether a document needs to be scanned in color mode, grayscale or B/W you may tick this box, if it’s being provided by your scanner. | Ticked / Unticked |
