Solution overview

The user interface of tia® Connect SharePoint solution integrates into SharePoint Online which he/she accesses via his/her web browser. This component is the SPFX Front-end.

Power Automate scripts implements all required actions in SharePoint and sends commands to tia® Connect. Derived from the Open API definition of tia® Connect the Custom Connector is provided by kgs ready for deployment.

tia® Connect translates the requests coming from the Power Automate script via the Custom Connector into CMIS requests to interacts with the tia® Content Server CMIS.

SPFX Front-end

The SPFX Front-end is installed as Custom SharePoint App and has to be activated in a SharePoint Site. The abbreviation SPFX stands for SharePoint Front-end eXtension.

Power Automate Flows

These flows interact between SharePoint Online and tia Connect with the help of a custom Connector.

The flows are imported as ZIP Packages https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/power-automate/import-flow-solution and also require access to the Microsoft Power Automate Plattform.

During installation, connection permission are required for:
SharePoint

  • Read list and library names, as well as the names of the columns

  • Create, read, update, copy and delete files and metadata

  • Create, read, update, and delete list items

Custom Connector

In order to work with Power Automate, Power Automate Access must be granted to the Custom Connector. Please refer to https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/power-automate/sign-up-sign-in

To install the Custom Connector, permissions to install Premium Connectors are required.

tia® Connect

tia® Connect is the translator between SharePoint and CMIS. It is a container that can run in Cloud or on-Premise infrastructures.

For proper operation, it requires to be connected with both SharePoint and tia® Content Server CMIS. It is also required that SharePoint can connect to tia® Content Server CMIS. Any user retrieving archived documents must have access to tia® Connect

tia® Content Server CMIS

tia® Connect needs to connect to the Content Server. No direct user connection is required.
