User Management (SCAN)
KGS ScanServer allows you to manage and define which user has access to one or many profile groups as well as define which user is allowed to change or upload profiles to a profile group.
In order to open the users overview, please click on the Scan Users-button within the Administration-menu on the left-hand side.

Within the opened menu you’ll see a list containing all registered scan users, whether they are scan profile administrators, as well as the number of profile groups these users are assigned to.

Within this menu, you may create new user accounts (e.g. in case you have disabled that KGS ScanServer will automatically create accounts for users newly connected to KGS ScanServer) as well as edit or delete existing user accounts.

Id | Sequential distinct number, representing a user. |
Scan User | Name of the user that has been registered to KGS ScanServer in order to use scan profiles with KGS Scan |
Status | The status displays whether a user account is a scan profile administrator or not. In the case of a normal user, the status will be ProfileReader. In the case of an administrator, it will be ProfileAdmin. |
Profile Groups | The count of profile groups associated with the user account. |
Actions | Within this column, you may either open the User edit-modal or delete the user account by clicking on the corresponding icon. |
Adding new users
You may add a new user by clicking on the + Add User…-button in the top right corner of the user overview. When clicking on that symbol you’ll open the Add/Update User-modal, which allows you to add a new scan user, set him as a profile administrator, and assign him to available scan profile groups.

Scan User | Textbox | Within this textbox, you may enter the username of the user, which will be created. Please note: The username has to be identical with the username, that is being used for logging into Windows. |
Profile Admin | Checkbox | When being checked the user, account that you’re about to create, will be set as a Scan Profile Administrator, which allows him to upload new scan profiles, change existing profiles and even delete profiles. Checked → The created user is being set as a profile administrator Unchecked → The created user, will be a normal scan client user, who has the right to read the scan profiles within the scan groups, he’s assigned to, but he’s not allowed to alter or delete those. |
Available | Listbox | Here you’ll see a list of all available scan profile groups. You may assign as many profile groups as you like by clicking on the profile group name. The profile group will switch to the Assigned list and will henceforth be available to the created scan user. |
Assigned | Listbox | Here you’ll see a list of all scan profile groups, which had been assigned to the user. You may remove a scan profile group by clicking on the profile group name. The clicked scan profile group will be removed from the Assigned list and move to the Available list, henceforth the user won’t be able to retrieve profiles from this scan profile group anymore. |
You may confirm the user creation by clicking on the Add/Update User-button in order to finish the user creation process. After creating the user, he’ll be displayed within the Scan User Information: overview.
Editing an existing user
When clicking on the pencil-symbol within the Actions-column, you may also open the Add/Update User-modal, with the previously entered or set values related to a scan user account.
Deleting an existing user
Clicking on the garbage bin-symbol within the Actions-column allows you to delete an existing user account.
