The web server Apache® Tomcat provides the Web Application Manager for the deployment and administration of servlets. One can also copy the WAR file into the webapps directory (standard: <tomcat_home>\webapps) while Tomcat is running. It will then automatically deploy after a short time.

The Web Application Manager can be opened through the internet browser of your choice. KGS recommends using Google Chrome.

URL -> <https://<hostname or ip>:<port>/manager (port 8080 for standard installtions)

Once the site has loaded, navigate to War file to deploy and select the Choose File button. Locate and select the WAR file (here: KGSAdmin-CS-500.war) and confirm with OK. Finish by se-lecting the Deploy button.

Tomcat supports an upload of WAR files with a maximum size of 50 MB per default via the tomcat manager. If the WAR file exceed this limit, adapt the default value or put the WAR file into the tomcat webapps directory directly.

Please note that the access to the Web Application Manager (/manager) must be configured during the Tomcat installation and the chosen user needs the role “manager-gui”.

The servlet is available within the Applications list and has already started once the deployment is completed.
