License issues like expiration cause easily system outage with high impact and service restauration has high urgency.
This article explains the steps to resolve these situations as quickly as possible.
I. Verify, if the system malfunctions because of licenses problems
via Status User-Interface
In case the tia® Core product was already running, when the license reached expiration, the Status User-Interface can be accessed and displays the license status.
tia® Core products do not start with missing or expired license. In this case, verify by log file if license issue is the cause.
Try open the tia® Status-User Interface of the tool in web browser.
The endpoint for the Status-User Interface is:/infohttp[s]://<server name or IP address>:<port>/infoFor WAR-deployments or, seldomly for container-deployments, when a web context is configured:
http[s]://<server name or IP address>:<port>/<context>/infoThe web page displayed is showing either that the license is valid and how many days are left, or that there is a license issue.

The tia Core products test every 15 minutes for a valid license.
Locate the most current message by searching from bottom of the log file backwards for:
LicenseEnforcementServiceImpl
Example message for expired license:

II. Obtain an emergency license from kgs Nexus server
Open in webbrowser: https://nexus.kgs-cloud.de/#browse/browse
kgs Nexus Server requires to log in with a customer-specific account.
Use the account of your company.Login by click at the icon in the top-right corner
Click Browse button and navigate into the folder
for tia® Core product licenses:
/raw-hosted/licenses
III. Apply the license into your installation
tia® Core products are searching periodically for a valid license file in JSON format in the configured license folder. tia® Core products do not required restart for picking up a new licenses. To do so, it may take up to 15 minutes.
Just drop the license file into this folder and wait a few minutes for the tia® Core product to pick it up.
Verify successful application of the license in Status-User Interface (see I.)
IV. Request a permanent license by opening a license request at kgs Support Desk
After successful application the emergency situation is resolved. However, emergency licenses have limited validity only.
So don't forget to log a license request ticket at kgs Support Desk:
