Solution Overview

This solution is an integration platform between Microsoft Outlook and SAP, implemented as an Outlook add‑in with a container‑based backend and a custom extension within SAP.

The client-facing component is an Outlook add‑in that runs within Microsoft Outlook, including the new Outlook experience. It enables users to interact with selected SAP-related functions directly from their email environment, without leaving Outlook.

In the backend, the solution relies on containerized services. These services host the addin webcomponents and the centralized SAP configuration. The container-based architecture allows the solution to be deployed flexibly in the customer’s preferred infrastructure (on‑premises or in the cloud), and supports scalability and maintainability.

On the SAP side, the solution requires custom code to be implemented. This SAP-specific enhancement is responsible for exposing the necessary business logic and data via suitable interfaces REST APIs.
