Installation of SAP .NET Connector (SAP NCo) for tia Scan

 

This document refers to tia Scan 2.22.0 and above. When using older version of tia Scan, read Installation of SAP .NET Connector (SAP NCo) for tia Scan until Version 2.21.0.0 .

In order to configure export features of tia Scan with an SAP System, it requires the SAP NCo library.

 

The installation files are provided by SAP: https://support.sap.com/en/product/connectors/msnet.html#section_512604546 .

 

  1. Read this information and verify that all listed prerequisites are met for:

    1. when installed tia Scan Client has version < 3.0.0: 32-bit edition of SAP NCo 3.1 library

    2. when installed tia Scan Client 3.x is 32-bit edition: 32-bit edition of SAP NCo 3.1 library

    3. when installed tia Scan Client 3.x is 64bit-version: 64-bit edition of SAP NCo 3.1 library

  2. Then download the SAP NCo 3.1 library for .NET framework for Windows 32bit (x86) respectively for Windows 64-bit (x64).

You need a user for the "SAP Support Portal" to download the libraries

  1. The download is a zip-archive containing multiple files. Extract all files into an empty directory.

  1. Start installation application SapNCox86Setup.exe and follow the instructions in the dialog boxes.

  2. After installation, locate these 3 files

32-bit edition

C:\Windows\Microsoft.NET\assembly\GAC_32\sapnco\v4.0_[versionNr]\sapnco.dll

C:\Windows\Microsoft.NET\assembly\GAC_32\rscp4n\v4.0_[versionNr]\rscp4n.dll

C:\Windows\Microsoft.NET\assembly\GAC_32\sapnco_utils\v4.0_[versionNr]\sapnco_utils.dll

64-bit edition

C:\Windows\Microsoft.NET\assembly\GAC_64\sapnco\v4.0_[versionNr]\sapnco.dll

C:\Windows\Microsoft.NET\assembly\GAC_64\rscp4n\v4.0_[versionNr]\rscp4n.dll

C:\Windows\Microsoft.NET\assembly\GAC_64\sapnco_utils\v4.0_[versionNr]\sapnco_utils.dll

 

  1. Copy these 3 files into the program directory of tia Scan:

32-bit edition

C:\Program Files (x86)\KGS\KGS Scan

64-bit edition

C:\Program Files\KGS\KGS Scan

 

After these steps the installation for SAP NCo library to be used with tia Scan is complete.
